MORAL VALUES AS THE VALUE OF DIGNITY

Abstract

This scientific article, within the framework of the theme “Moral Values as the Value of Dignity,” conducts a comprehensive analysis of the historical, cultural, and philosophical foundations of the concept of values. The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the concept of values in Eastern and Western philosophical traditions, their relationships with moral norms and principles, and the role they play in society. In the course of the research, aspects related to the concept of values-such as human personality, social justice, freedom, and the meaning of life - are thoroughly examined. While in Eastern philosophy values are formed on the basis of spiritual and religious views and are expressed through principles such as humanism, compassion, and justice, in Western philosophy the priority is given to the scientific approach, freedom, and individualism. The article presents quotations reflecting the opinions of prominent thinkers such as Avicenna, Al-Farabi, Rumi, Plato, Aristotle, and Kant, and compares their views on the concept of values. The research results conclude with practical recommendations aimed at enhancing the significance of the concept of values in modern society, strengthening moral norms, and developing intercultural dialogue. This scientific work, by presenting a deep analytical approach to the theoretical foundations and practical application of values, suggests that it will contribute in the future to the formation of moral values and the establishment of a healthy dialogue between cultures. The article comprehensively illuminates the concept of values and serves as a fundamental source for social and philosophical discussions. The complexity and multifaceted nature of the concept of values demonstrate the necessity of forming new societal norms based on moral principles in modern life.
